What is cosmetic tatooing?
Cosmetic tattooing is the art of placing specifically designed cosmetic tattoo pigments into the designated facial area. Cosmetic tattooing is more superficial than body art tattoos and the pigments used are extremely different to inks used on the body.
Although it is known as semi permanent because it fades, as your skin will never go back to its original state it could be considered permanent.
Does it hurt?
Numbing agents are used throughout each procedure to ensure client comfortability. Most clients do not feel any discomfort.
However if you know you have a low pain threshold or will be unable to lay still throughout your treatment, please do not book in as comfort levels cannot be guaranteed and Zosia may have to stop your treatment. Clients are required to complete necessary authorisation forms and patch tests.
How long does it last?
On average most clients get between 8-18 months out of their cosmetic tattoo before needing a maintenance visit, however this changes vastly from one person to another. No exact time frames can be guaranteed nor should you compare your longevity to that of another.
Every effort is made by Zosia to ensure the longevity of every tattoo by providing the most up to date and state of the art techniques and aftercare.

If a client chooses not to continue with cosmetic tattooing their initial design will get lighter and lighter, however your skin is unlikely to return to its former state.
Why does it fade?
There are a few reasons why cosmetic tattoo fades, these include but are not limited to;
- Pigments are used for cosmetic tattooing which are different to tattoo inks and are designed to be broken down by the body.
- The depth of cosmetic tattooing is more superficial than the depth of a body art tattoo.
Factors which affect cosmetic tattooing retention includes but is not limited to; vitamin and mineral levels of client, medical circumstances, sun exposure, facial exfoliation, activity levels, skin type (oily, dry, combination), aftercare procedure.

Zosia provides each client with the best possible treatment and post care advice to ensure the longevity of each and every tattoo.
Symmtery
No ones face is symmetrical, therefore it is impossible to make your eyebrows 100% symmetrical. Although every effort is taken to create the illusion of perfectly symmetrical eyebrows, actual symmetry is never going to happen.
Is it possible to work on existing semi permanent makeup?
It is never easy to work on top of existing cosmetic tattooing and every client will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Zosia reserves the right to refuse to work on any clients face that has existing work from another artist.
Zosia will instruct your further about whether she is able to work on top of your existing work, or whether you are best having it removed first.
